Svetlana Masterkova was hospitalized in a Moscow hospital. She was diagnosed with an aggressive malignant brain tumor.
Last summer she was already in a medical facility when she began to lose her speech due to physical exertion and stress. As Mash learned, a month and a half later, the champion was operated on – the tumor was removed microsurgically. She then underwent several courses of chemotherapy.
Against this background, serious problems with vision, cardiovascular system and joints began. The other day, at the hospital, she was given intravenous antitumor drugs and sent home – with the condition that she would be monitored by an oncologist. Masterkova’s condition is satisfactory, but the symptoms of the disease persist. Doctors forbade her to do heavy work.
