Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has condemned the recent increase in Russian attacks, particularly emphasizing the growing terroristic nature of strikes involving Shahed drones. On Friday, Russian forces targeted various locations in Kyiv, including gas stations, resulting in two fatalities and nine injuries, one of whom was a rescue worker hurt during a secondary strike.
“They also struck the Kyivstar building. Attacks have been ongoing since nightfall,” Zelensky reported.
In addition to Kyiv, other regions, including Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Donetsk, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv, also experienced assaults.
Zelensky stressed the urgency of addressing these threats, stating, “We cannot wait while Russia refines its repertoire of killings. It is crucial to focus on enhancing air defenses and finding solutions to protect our citizens, as well as scaling up efforts against Russian drones.”
According to Kyivstar, the attack damaged their engineering office in Kyiv, but thankfully, no employees were harmed. The operator is currently assessing the damage and working to restore operations.
“Kyivstar’s network continues to function and provide services to subscribers,” the company confirmed in a statement.
