Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has condemned the alarming incident involving gunfire between separate units of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) that occurred in Kyiv. He emphasized that in Ukraine, shooting should only be directed at Russian occupiers in defense of the nation. Zelensky stated, “No other shootout will ever be accepted by our state as something that is permissible.” He called for accountability, including personnel decisions regarding the leaders of the security agencies involved in today’s events, and demanded internal investigations within both services.
