Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have thwarted an assassination attempt against a leader of a defense enterprise, orchestrated by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB). The operation involved a 63-year-old retiree from Luhansk, who was recruited to carry out the attack. He planned to place explosives beneath the driver’s seat of the official’s vehicle.
The suspect was apprehended in Poland while attempting to exit to Russia via Belarus. He has since been charged with an attempted terrorist act.
