Kevin Appiah Nyarko Joins Politehnica Timișoara from Helsingborgs IF

Kevin Appiah Nyarko, a 24-year-old forward, has officially joined Politehnica Timișoara in Romania’s Liga 2. The club announced his signing via social media.
Nyarko joins Timișoara after a stint with Helsingborgs IF, where he played in Sweden’s second division and helped his team finish 10th. His arrival is seen as a strategic move as the club aims for promotion to the Superliga.
Currently, the team, managed by Dan Alexa, is performing well in the league, sitting in second place with 10 points after four matches.

Expressing his excitement, Nyarko stated, “I am thrilled to sign with Poli. I’m looking forward to this journey with all of you. I’ve heard wonderful things about the club and its history, and I am ready to play for this team. I hope we have many memorable moments ahead!”
Nyarko developed his skills in the youth systems of Fortuna Köln and Wolverhampton in England. He holds dual citizenship in Germany and the Netherlands.
At the senior level, he has played for clubs such as Hanworth Villa and Kingstonian FC in England, as well as SJK Seinajoki in Finland. In Sweden, he represented Gottne IF, Brage, Varbergs BoIS, and Helsingborgs IF.
In the second half of the 2025 season, Nyarko contributed to SJK Seinajoki’s strong finish in the Veikkausliiga playoffs, scoring three goals in ten appearances. He then joined Helsingborgs IF in March 2026, where he netted three goals and provided three assists in 18 matches.
His last official match was on August 23, where Helsingborgs IF lost 1-3 to Oddevold. In Timișoara, Nyarko will compete for a forward position with Aurelian Chițu, David Popa, and Vlad Morar.
