Kazimierza Wielka is preparing for a significant investment breakthrough, potentially becoming home to one of Poland’s largest spa complexes. This development is attributed to its abundant sulfur water deposits.
Kazimierza Wielka, a small town in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, is poised to become a key location on Poland’s spa map. According to reports, its sulfur water deposits are of higher quality than those found in Busko-Zdrój, a well-known health resort.
Search for Oil Leads to Valuable Discovery
This story dates back to the 1950s when mineral waters were discovered during oil exploration. For decades, this discovery remained overlooked until a turning point in 2015 when the county commissioned a borehole that confirmed the area’s resource potential. As a result, in 2018-2019, Kazimierza Wielka and nearby villages received the status of a health resort area, and in 2019, the Ministry of Health officially authorized spa activities there.
In December 2023, Poland’s first outdoor sulfur pool was opened at a local swimming facility, marking just the beginning of larger investment plans. Reports indicate that two land sale tenders were successfully concluded within the designated zone encompassing nearly 100 hectares. The largest pertained to a 7-hectare county parcel valued at 4 million PLN, while the other involved over 4.5 hectares of municipal land. Both contracts were awarded to Złoty Kłos Binkowscy, a firm recognized for managing hotels and spas in Kielce.
New Spa Complex in Poland?
The plans include modern buildings interconnected by paths and greenery, featuring distinctive glass domes housing pools, spa areas, saunas, and relaxation spaces. Outdoor pools, leisure terraces, and extensive dining options are also envisioned. The development will cover over 2.5 hectares and provide around 500 rooms, with a parking area designed to accommodate more than 1,000 vehicles located underground.
Additionally, reports emphasize that the investor has a maximum of ten years to realize the project from the date of signing the perpetual usufruct agreement. Prior to construction, comprehensive project documentation must be prepared, along with acquiring conservation approvals and aligning the project with the specifics of the mining area.
