The Romanian women’s four crew, featuring Ancuța Bodnar, Maria Lehaci, Magdalena Rusu, and Geanina Juncanariu, was the first team to compete in the Bosbaan canal in Amsterdam. They participated in heat 1 of the World Rowing Championships.
UPDATE: Women’s Four Qualifies for Semifinals
Competing in lane 1, the Romanian crew secured a second-place finish, trailing the Australian team throughout the race. Australia led from start to finish, crossing the finish line with a lead of over 7 seconds. Both crews have qualified directly for the semifinals scheduled for Thursday, August 27.
INITIAL REPORT: The second day of the World Championships in Amsterdam sees four Romanian crews taking to the water for the first time in this official competition. Two four-person crews, one female and one male, will participate in heats.
Additionally, the men’s double sculls team, which has a high number of participating countries, will race in the quarterfinals after comfortably advancing through the heats on the first day.

First Day Sees Clear Qualifications for Double Sculls Teams
On the opening day of the competition, Romania’s double sculls teams, both female (Simona Radiș and Adriana Adam) and male (Ștefan Berariu and Florin Lehaci), qualified for the semifinals without difficulty, winning their respective heats.
The third Romanian crew to compete on day one was the men’s double sculls, where a change was made: Mădălina Cornea was replaced by Mariana Dumitru, who teamed up with Alexandra Ungureanu. They finished third in heat 4 with a time of 07:58.20 and will now advance to the C final.
