“Genoa is a team used to fighting for survival. It would be more unusual to fight for the top places or European cups. They have a squad of Serie A players and they look like a solid team. I don't know what transfer budget they have to bring in players and shoot for the top places.
In football, things are unpredictable. You can go into a downward spiral and never get out of that slump. They are currently out there struggling, but not in a desperate situation. There is pressure at Genoa, they have fans and there has always been a lot of pressure.
Now is a better time. I really think it's a good time, because I'm in the first league. When I was there, they were in Serie B and there were also financial problems. They now have a good situation, unlike Sampdoria, where there are financial problems,” Paul Codrea told Gazeta Sporturilor.
