Marcio Rosa Joins UTA Arad as New Goalkeeper

Marcio Rosa, a 29-year-old goalkeeper, has officially arrived in Arad to bolster UTA’s squad under coach Adrian Mihalcea. The Cape Verdean international was seen in the stands of the ‘Francisc Neuman’ stadium during the UTA – Rapid match on Friday evening, part of the fourth round of the Superliga.
Rosa confirmed his presence in Arad with a photo shared on social media from the stadium. His attendance at the match comes just a day after reports surfaced indicating he had agreed to join UTA.
Marcio Rosa’s Background
Rosa is set to become the new goalkeeper for UTA. He was part of the Cape Verde national team during this summer’s World Cup, where he served as a backup to the experienced Vozinha. With nine caps for Cape Verde, Rosa has played throughout his career in Portugal for clubs such as Chaves, Montalegre, Cova da Piedade, Vilafranquense, and Anadia. His market value is estimated at €350,000 according to Transfermarkt.
The acquisition of Marcio Rosa follows UTA’s decision to start Arpad Tordai in goal during the match against Rapid, a goalkeeper who had not participated in an official match for over five months. Additionally, Rosa will face competition from 25-year-old Andrei Gorcea, who was the substitute for the match against the Bucharest team.
Rosa arrives at UTA during a challenging time for the team, currently sitting second to last in the Superliga standings after three matches, having accumulated only one point and conceding seven goals, four of which were during a loss to Universitatea Craiova in the first round of the championship.
