Janusz Palikot’s assets, which include significant ventures from his past as a businessman and politician, have yet to find a new owner despite being listed for sale several months ago. The auction for the Tenczynek Brewery, a key part of his business empire, has seen no bids, prompting the appointed syndicate to explore other methods of recovering funds for creditors.
Current investigations surrounding Janusz Palikot’s companies are ongoing, but a court in Kraków has permitted the sale of the Manufaktura Piwa, Wódki i Wina, which is the primary enterprise under his management. The Tenczynek Brewery, which operated under the Manufaktura brand, was listed with a starting price of 23.7 million PLN, yet no offers were made during the sale.
Exploring Options for Palikot’s Assets
The plan was to sell the brewery in its entirety, including production equipment, alcohol inventory, and trademark rights. Proceeds from the sale were intended to address part of the company’s debts, exceeding 240 million PLN, with over 1,400 creditors involved. The syndicate initially focused on repaying secured creditors first.
After the auction failed to attract any bidders, the syndicate’s representative, Lesław Kolczyński, began discussions with potentially interested parties. In mid-July, he revealed to “Fakt” that negotiations were underway with two entities regarding lease agreements with purchase options or expedited sales without prior leasing. Both parties have already submitted letters of intent. Kolczyński also outlined that failure to sell could lead to renewed enforcement proceedings, selling off individual assets, and ultimately less favorable outcomes for creditors.
According to “Gazeta Krakowska”, there may be plans for a new auction of Janusz Palikot’s assets. The firm overseeing the proceedings, KDR Doradztwo i Restrukturyzacji from Kraków, has reported that details and the auction date are yet to be determined.
