Turkey Proposes Ceasefire Plan Between Ukraine and Russia

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has emphasized the urgent need for Ukraine and Russia to return to the negotiating table, warning that the ongoing conflict poses a significant risk of further escalation. Fidan’s comments come amid rising tensions and military activities in the region.
He stated that Turkey’s priority is a complete cessation of hostilities. However, if a comprehensive ceasefire cannot be achieved at this time, a temporary measure should be considered. This moratorium on combat could focus on critical areas significant to both Ukraine and Russia, as well as other countries.
Fidan highlighted two key areas for this potential ceasefire: energy infrastructure and the Black Sea region. He suggested that halting attacks on such targets could help reduce escalation levels and enhance regional security.
