FCSB Coach Marius Baciu Seeks Versatile Striker This Summer

Marius Baciu, at 51 years old, has outlined his vision for the type of striker he wants to bring to FCSB this summer. He emphasizes the need for a complex player capable of performing across all offensive positions.

In a recent discussion, Baciu compared his requirements to those of renowned player Kylian Mbappe, shortly after expressing his intention to adopt a playing style similar to that of the French national team.

Profile of the Desired Striker for FCSB

“We are looking for a profile of a striker who can assist us. Someone who can play alone, or in pairs or trios. Essentially, a versatile player upfront who can defend as well as score,” Baciu stated from the team’s training camp in the Netherlands, as noted by sport.ro.

He also praised Tavi Popescu, a player he believes has significantly improved since he took over the team. “I have no complaints about Tavi Popescu since I arrived. He has my full confidence and is crucial for us. Football is something you don’t forget; he is young and has trained well alongside his teammates. I hope he continues to perform well in the championship and brings consistent good results for the team,” Baciu added.

Baciu was appointed as FCSB’s coach on May 18, after Gigi Becali was unable to convince Elias Charalambous to return, despite previously winning two titles in the Superliga together. Baciu successfully fulfilled his mission to qualify the team for the Conference League and will remain at the helm of FCSB.

During their training camp in the Netherlands, FCSB played two friendly matches, losing 0-4 to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, the new team of Darius Olaru, before bouncing back with a 1-0 victory against Al Jazira, coached by Cosmin Olăroiu.
