An explosion occurred during a document check in Odessa region
During a routine document check, a patrol police response team in the Odessa region stopped a man riding a moped for violating traffic regulations. Upon examining his identification, officers discovered that the driver was a military personnel who had deserted his unit.
The situation escalated when the man produced a grenade and threatened to use it. Shortly thereafter, an explosion ensued.
The blast resulted in injuries to both police officers and the military man involved.
Authorities are currently investigating the scene.
