A boy named Loki Skywalker was denied a passport due to Disney copyright infringement.
The child of the British couple Mowbray was born on May 4, Star Wars day, and so the parents decided to name him after one of the main characters in the George Lucas universe. This is how Loki Skywalker Mowbray saw the light.
There were no problems with the name until the family decided to go on vacation to the Dominican Republic. For this, a foreign passport was needed, but the Ministry of Internal Affairs refused to issue the document to the teenager, saying that due to copyrights the surname Skywalker could not be used.
Officials said parents must either change Loki's middle name or get official permission from Disney. As a result, the problem was resolved, and the boy was finally issued a passport.
