Lukashenko Meets Xi Jinping in Beijing for Discussions on Global Cooperation

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Beijing for what he described as a visit to “his second home.” This trip follows recent discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin and marks Lukashenko’s 17th visit to China.
During a meeting that lasted over three hours, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that the current relations between China and Belarus are at a “historic peak.” Lukashenko expressed his appreciation for Xi’s remarks and emphasized the importance of their discussions on global cooperation.
“This is what we talked about, perhaps even dreamed of, in the lead-up to greater cooperation between Belarus and the People’s Republic of China,” he remarked before the negotiations commenced.
The significance of this meeting is underscored by the context of recent diplomatic activities, including a one-on-one meeting between Lukashenko and Putin on June 26, which was followed by a larger group discussion the next day, though details from those encounters have not been disclosed.
