Results of Ukraine’s 40-Day Operation Against Russian Military Assets

The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has reported significant damage to Russian military assets during a recent operation. Drones targeted two military support ships, the cable layers Project 15310 “Volga” and “Vyatka,” as well as the nearly operational cargo-passenger ferry “Petropavlovsk,” resulting in fires at these locations.
According to the SBU, the “Volga” and “Vyatka” were constructed for the Russian Ministry of Defense and are intended for deploying the “Harmony” hydroacoustic monitoring system for underwater military reconnaissance. Additionally, these vessels can lay non-contact mines that threaten ships, underwater pipelines, cables, and other critical infrastructure, with each ship valued at hundreds of millions of dollars.
The operation also successfully struck Russian air defense systems near the Kerch Strait, including elements of the S-400 missile system.
This initiative is part of a 40-day operation aimed at influencing Russia, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on June 25. “I have authorized a 40-day operation to influence the aggressor state to encourage an end to the war,” Zelensky stated.
As noted by the SBU, Ukrainian defense forces have been periodically attacking enemy targets, ramping up assaults recently with the involvement of SBU fighters.
One of the most extensive operations on Russian territory was “Web,” aimed at destroying bombers behind enemy lines, which had been in preparation for over a year.
During the special operation, drones were transported by trucks to airfields, launching at the right moment to reach their targets.
