Ruslan Kravchenko Marks One Year as Head of Prosecutor General’s Office

Today, one year has passed since Ruslan Kravchenko assumed leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office. This milestone prompts a look at the key achievements over the past year, particularly in child protection. During this time, conditions for over 66,000 children, 2,400 families, and more than 400 specialized institutions were assessed. A total of 591 children were removed from hazardous environments.
Additionally, 540 criminal cases were initiated against parents, guardians, and officials for failing to fulfill their obligations. On the financial front, the office has identified over 14 billion UAH in losses related to state budget protection, with 3.4 billion UAH already recovered and returned to state coffers.
The Prosecutor General’s Office also conducted a comprehensive audit of criminal cases, uncovering over 26,000 cases that had lingered against entrepreneurs for years. Nearly 10,000 of these cases were closed due to lack of prospects or as instruments of pressure. Furthermore, businesses have had over 80 million UAH of seized funds returned to them.
Throughout the year, the office has also transferred seized funds and assets worth over 1.3 billion UAH to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
