Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with White House President Donald Trump during the Group of Seven (G7) leaders' summit in France next week. Zelensky announced this on Telegram on June 14, after a telephone conversation with Trump.
Euractiv previously wrote about the likelihood of such a meeting. However, The Guardian, citing a high-ranking source in the US administration, wrote on June 14 that Trump is not going to hold a bilateral meeting with Zelensky on the sidelines of the summit.
The President of Ukraine said that during a telephone conversation with Trump, he discussed what “could help bring peace closer now.”
“Agreed to discuss more when we meet at the G7 summit. We have some good ideas that can help bring peace closer and protect lives,” he wrote.
