A 21-year-old hockey player from the Norilsk club died tragically during a hunt.

In Bashkiria, under tragic circumstances, the striker of the Norilsk hockey club, Yegor Yadykin, died. He was 21 years old. The team's press service reported this.

According to the Baza telegram channel, the tragedy occurred while hunting in Salavat. Yadykin accidentally shot himself in the lower jaw while reaching for his gun and died on the spot. His 68-year-old grandfather, according to the channel, could not survive the incident and committed suicide. Yadykin is a graduate of the Omsk Avangard, a two-time champion of Russia among juniors, and last year became a player for Norilsk, which plays in the VHL.

The club remembered him as a selfless fighter, a smiling guy who energized his teammates on and off the court. “The news of Yegor’s sudden departure came as a shock to everyone without exception,” the statement said.

The club expressed condolences to family and friends and promised to provide them with all the necessary assistance.
