Siberian Generating Company is expanding the geography of environmental reforms in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The summary calculations of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources recorded a measurable result – thermal power plants and boiler houses of the SGC are no longer the main air pollutants in the ground layer of the city of Krasnoyarsk.
“The bare facts are 7 years of round-the-clock work by a large team of specialists, large-scale renovation of enterprises using unique technical solutions and the introduction of the best available technologies, 61 billion investments and minus 9,300 tons of pollutant emissions,” explains the SGC.
Now SGK has begun to carry out new tasks – to improve the environment in other areas of responsibility in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In Kansk, Minusinsk, Nazarovo and Zelenogorsk, the company is also developing several areas at once: modernizing generating equipment, updating gas purification, introducing automatic emissions control, replacing inefficient boiler houses and developing heating network infrastructure.
“SGK, as an energy company that ensures the life of the cities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, has accepted the most difficult challenge: to guarantee one hundred percent reliability of heat supply in the Siberian winter and at the same time radically reduce the load on the ecosystem,” said Oleg Bubnovsky, general director of the Yenisei TGC (a division of the Yenisei TGC in the Yenisei Siberia region) at the environmental forum “I Choose Clean Air” held in Krasnoyarsk.
In Nazarovo and Zelenogorsk, the company is updating gas cleaning equipment at stations. The total investment volume is 5.3 billion rubles.
At Nazarovskaya State District Power Plant, work is underway on chimney No. 2; an automated emission control system is being installed here. This year’s plans also include modernization of the dust removal system of the central dust plant and gas cleaning equipment of power unit No. 2. Upon completion of the program to improve the environmental efficiency of the Nazarovskaya State District Power Plant, by 2032, the reduction in emissions of suspended particles will be 47.2%.
At Krasnoyarskaya GRES-2 in Zelenogorsk, the project to update gas treatment equipment started in 2025 with the modernization of battery cyclone traps at power unit No. 7. This year, the same work will be carried out at two more power units – four boilers. By 2030, gas purification units will be modernized at all boilers of the station. Automatic emission control systems will be installed on chimneys.
Another key area of work for SGC is the replacement of non-environmentally friendly boiler houses. In Krasnoyarsk, the company has already replaced 37 inefficient heat sources, switching consumers to the power of thermal power plants with modern gas purification systems.

In Kansk, the heat supply modernization program has been implemented since 2020. During this time, 12 outdated boiler houses were replaced, 50 km of heating networks were updated, and pipeline wear was halved – from 80 to 38%. In 2026, SGK began reconstructing two more dilapidated heat sources and replacing 7 km of heating networks in 57 areas.
In Minusinsk, a new environmental project of the SGC and the administration of the Minusinsk District will be the modernization of the heat supply of the Technical Communications Center microdistrict. The SGK company has undertaken obligations to carry out and finance design and survey work. The city administration plans to build a new heating network with a length of about 3 km. This will make it possible to close 4 non-ecological departmental boiler houses and transfer consumers to the Minusinsk Thermal Power Plant, and most importantly, reduce emissions of pollutants by more than 300 tons.
SGK is also developing other programs that can be useful not only for the cities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Representatives of the government of Khakassia and Buryatia became interested in the “New Heat” project to transfer the private sector to electric heating. Another promising project “Siberia Charges” for the development of electric charging infrastructure, which SGK is implementing together with PJSC Rosseti Sibir. Today, the network of gas stations for electric cars in Krasnoyarsk is the largest beyond the Urals.
