A serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Konstantin Pridushchenko, received a mine explosion injury and was captured during the defense of Mariupol. The Heart of Azovstal project, part of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, organized comprehensive support for Pridushchenko, the initiative’s website reported.
According to the project, Pridushchenko joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2014. After the start of a full-scale invasion, he took part in the defense of his hometown of Mariupol. There he received a mine explosion injury and was evacuated to a hospital at Azovstal. After treatment, he participated in the battles for the plant and was subsequently captured. The serviceman was released and returned to Ukraine in December 2022.
As part of the Health program, Pridushchenko underwent rehabilitation.
“Having become disabled, he was unable to return to the army, but did everything possible to help the Ukrainian defense forces. Konstantin also took part in the Hearts of Azovstal family camping, where he was able to improve his health,” says a message on the project website.
“Heart of Azovstal” provided Pridushchenko with an apartment in Odessa.
“Odessa reminds me more of my home. Listening to the sea means a lot for the people of Mariupol and for those who love the sea. Thanks to Rinat Leonidovich Akhmetov for such a wonderful project as the “Heart of Azovstal”. This is a very big support for everyone,” said the defender of Ukraine.
