Maja Chwalińska is playing for millions of zlotys. This is her potential reward

The sensational finalist of Roland Garros will have a chance to make history in world tennis. So far, only one player has managed to win the title after qualifying for the tournament. It was the British Emma Raducanu in 2021.
Chwalińska has already played nine matches. In the tournament on the courts in Paris, she defeated many more successful rivals.
In the first round in Paris, the Pole won against the Chinese Olympic champion Qinwen Zheng 6:4, 6:0, and then in the same ratio against the 23rd seeded Belgian Elise Mertens. In the 3rd round, she defeated the Greek Maria Sakkari 1:6, 6:3, 6:2, and then the French Diane Parry 6:3, 6:2 and the Russian Anna Kalinskaya (22nd) 7:6 (7-3), 6:3. In the semi-finals, she did not give Diana Sznajder from Russia a chance.

By winning the semi-final, the Polish tennis player has already achieved the greatest success of her career. Also financial.
So far, she has earned EUR 1.4 million (PLN 5.9-6 million) gross on the courts in Paris. This means that PLN 770,000 will be transferred to her account. euro, i.e. approximately PLN 3.2–3.3 million. This is more than she has earned in her entire career so far.

The stakes are even higher. If the Pole wins in the final, she will receive EUR 2.8 million gross, i.e. PLN 11.8-11.9 million.
However, it is worth remembering that in France there are high taxes on sports prizes – they amount to approximately 45%. winning. Therefore, our tennis player will receive “only” just over half of the amount she earned in Paris.
Importantly, Chwalińska, who pays tax in France, will no longer have to pay it again in Poland. He drew attention to this, among others: Roman Giertych.
