The report also shows the strong position of Małopolska as a summer recreation destination. The region's greatest asset remains its natural values, indicated by 48.6%. respondents. — The study results show that Małopolska can benefit from the growing popularity of mountains, nature and active recreation. The region responds very well to the needs of modern tourists because, in addition to natural values, it also offers rich culture, tradition and local experiences. Importantly, despite the lack of access to the sea, Małopolska is developing an attractive recreational offer related to water – lakes, thermal baths, as well as SPA and wellness facilities, which are increasingly becoming an element of holiday and weekend trips – says Grzegorz Biedroń, president of the Małopolska Tourist Organization.
Although 32 percent respondents declare that they have already planned a holiday or booked a stay, a large part of the market is still at the decision-making stage. 16.9 percent respondents are planning last minute holidays, and another 17.6 percent will make a decision only 2-3 weeks before departure.
— From a hotel's perspective, the most expensive room is the one that remains empty. That's why booking portals play a key role in the entire tourism ecosystem today. Although some Poles plan their holidays in advance, according to the report, many make the decision spontaneously. Often just a few days before departure. In such situations, what counts is convenience, quick comparison of offers and a ready idea for relaxation. Booking websites respond to these needs by combining inspiration, selected packages and simple booking in one place – says Krzysztof Dębski, Chief Marketing Officer at Triverna.pl.
