On Friday, May 29, the data of the specialist report were published following the medical checkup carried out by the American president at the beginning of the same week, at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, near Washington. According to the cited document, which spans three pages, Donald Trump “remains in excellent health”, notes afpnews.
“President Trump remains in excellent health and has strong heart, lung, neurological and general physical function,” stated the presidential physician, Captain Sean Barbabella, emphasizing that he is “fully fit to perform all the duties of Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
According to the same doctor, Donald Trump's only problem is that he is overweight. In fact, this aspect, recently noticed by more and more people in the photos in which it appears, has generated on social networks including comments related to the fact that the leader of the White House could wear pampers.
“Preventive advice was given, including dietary recommendations, low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity and continued weight loss,” it is stated in the official statement.
Otherwise, the report states, Donald Trump, who will turn 80 on June 14, takes three medications: two to control cholesterol and aspirin to “prevent heart disease.”
As “Truth” previously wrote, Tuesday's medical checkup was the third since Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20, 2025, which means that the president is evaluated approximately every six months, a more frequent rate than the usual annual schedule of checkups.
In his first term, Donald Trump's health was sometimes the subject of public debate, including in the context of his hospitalization after being infected with Covid-19, in October 2020, during which there were criticisms regarding the lack of transparency regarding the medical condition of the leader from the White House.
Since returning to power in January 2025, Donald Trump has reduced the pace of domestic travel compared to his first term, but continues to have an active schedule of foreign visits and public meetings.
Although in all his public messages after the examination, Donald Trump conveyed that “everything went PERFECTLY”, the presence of a persistent bruise on the right hand, sometimes covered with foundation, leaves room for speculation. The president explained its appearance by “frequent handshakes”, while doctors put it down to the administration of aspirin with a cardiovascular preventive role.
Despite the medical report that assures that the state of health makes Donald Trump fit for the position of president of the USA, currently, in the American public space, discussions regarding his cognitive capacity continue.
We remind you that, in the context of decisions regarding the conflict in the Middle East, after the US attacks on Iran, even Marco Rubio was asked by a Democratic senator, during a questioning in Congress, if he has confidence in the decision-making capacity of President Donald Trump.
Also, a Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos poll shows that 59% of Americans surveyed believe that Donald Trump does not have the mental capacity to lead the country, and 55% believe that he does not have the necessary physical health.
However, this does not make Donald Trump take a step back.
“It feels like 50 years ago. It's crazy,” he stated on May 12.
