In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, children and their parents are invited to a career guidance tour

The Employment Service of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is implementing a career guidance project – “Family ProfTour”.
High school students and their parents are invited on excursions to their employers. Tour participants are introduced to the production process and informed about in-demand specialties. In addition, young people are given the opportunity to try themselves in the profession using simulators or performing simple manipulations on existing equipment.
For example, in Norilsk, a “Family ProfTour” was organized for a meat processing plant. The youth learned more about the enterprise, its personnel needs and development prospects. In addition, meeting participants were offered options for temporary employment in their free time from study.
“Guys who are faced with choosing a future specialty take part in vocational courses. We help them in professional self-determination, taking into account the personnel needs of the economy. We guide them to in-demand professions so that they can successfully find a job in the future. For better results, we involve their parents, whose opinion is of great importance for the children,” commented Viktor Novikov, head of the labor and employment agency of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Let us recall that on the initiative of Governor Mikhail Kotyukov, the Krasnoyarsk Territory was among the first to join the federal project on career guidance. Today the region is one of Russia’s leaders in this direction.
At vocational training courses, children are given knowledge about the labor market, potential employers, and targeted training for guaranteed employment. In organizing excursions to enterprises, the employment service is assisted by volunteers of the regional career guidance movement “Your Horizons” – high school students and students, as well as “silver volunteers” from the “Siberian Longevity” movement.

Support for youth employment and early career guidance corresponds to the objectives of the national project “Family”. Creating conditions for the professional development of teenagers and young professionals helps to build the region’s human resources potential, which directly affects the improvement of the demographic situation.
Often, it is the opportunity to acquire a profession and confidence in the future that become important factors for starting a family and long-term life planning.
