“In the afternoon of this day, police officers from the Câmpina Municipality Police executed a home search warrant in Scorțeni commune, Prahova county, against a person suspected of committing the crime of sexual assault on a minor.

The investigations were started on May 15, 2026, as a result of a complaint made by a woman from the municipality of Câmpina, regarding the fact that her daughter, a 12-year-old minor, had been sexually assaulted by a 42-year-old man, during some sports training activities.

Following the activities carried out, the person suspected of committing the act was identified and taken to the headquarters of the police unit for questioning.

Currently, the investigations are being continued by the police, under the coordination of the competent prosecutor's office, with a view to establishing the entire criminal activity and ordering the necessary legal measures”it is stated in the press release issued on Thursday evening by the Câmpina Police.

And the city hall reacted: “I publicly request the targeted coach to submit his resignation immediately”

I make it very clear that I strongly disapprove and condemn any form of abusive, inappropriate behavior or that may affect the physical or emotional integrity of children. The safety of minors must be an absolute priority for any institution that carries out educational or sports activities.
