Israel suspends relations with the UN Secretary General. “He added us to the blacklist”

However, Ambassador Danny Danon stated in a recording posted on the X website: we are done with this Secretary General.
The UN has added Israel to a blacklist of conflict sex offenders […]. Equating the democratic state of Israel with Hamas terrorists is the latest act of vileness. Israel protects its citizens while Hamas commits massacres, rapes and kidnappings
– Israeli ambassador to the UN Danny Danon said in the recording.
The Israeli Embassy to the United Nations suspends relations with the UN Secretary General
Moments later, in a telephone conversation with the Times of Israel, the ambassador explained that the Israeli government had not received “specific complaints” from the UN to which it could respond.
This move is political
– he emphasized.
Last year, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned Israel that it was at risk of being placed on the list of countries responsible for sexual crimes during armed conflicts and informed what steps the country's authorities must take to avoid such a sanction. These included, among others: undertaking investigations following the submission of “credible complaints” of acts of sexual violence, and ensuring full access for UN representatives to monitor the situation and provide humanitarian assistance.
The Times of Israel also explains that the UN allegations concern numerous cases of sexual violence against Hamas fighters imprisoned in Israel. Danny Danon claims that Israel did everything in its power to comply with the organization's demands, and he himself met with Guterres' representative on sexual violence in conflicts – Pramila Patten.
