Jewels from the collection of the ex-wife of Emperor Bokassa I of Central Africa and a Hermès bag that belonged to Elena Ceaușescu, in the Artmark Luxury Auction

Much of the current selection dedicated to elegance has a remarkable historical provenance, very important for the cultural context it documents. A part of a real history, which connected Romania with the African space in an important moment of the Cold War. They are objects that carry with them a biography and a historical memory.

The event also includes more than 300 other luxury decorative objects, which are true fragments of recent history, with provenances and stories that connect the world of fashion and jewelry to the great figures of the 20th century. Thus, the auction also presents another accessory that belonged to Elena Ceaușescu — an exotic leather Hermès bagwhich has a starting price of 1,800 Euros, far from the current list price of a similar model, around 9,000 Euros.

The selection is completed by several reference pieces for the international luxury and investment market in jewelry and watches. Here are just a few examples: a white gold ring with a 5.01 ct diamond.which starts in the auction from 28,000 Euros, a Mouawad diamond and pink sapphire necklacefrom 13,000 Euros, a Rolex Datejust with a rare malachite dial, from 1986offered from 6,000 Euros — considerably below the current market price of 10,000 Euros, a spectacular 6.74 carat Padparadscha sapphireone of the rarest varieties of sapphire in the world — which has a starting price of 7,500 Euros.

The auction confirms the growing interest in purchasing luxury jewellery, watches and accessories through auction houses, where provenance, certification and competitive starting prices transform such items into true collector's assets.
