On the night of May 23, drones struck the port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea. The authorities of the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation claimed at night that they repelled the attack, and the debris fell on the territory of the fuel terminal.
Later, the regional operational headquarters reported two casualties. The Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+ writes that the Grushovaya oil terminal is on fire as a result of shelling, and publishes a video.
OSINT analysis of the Russian online publication ASTRA geolocated the video and confirms a fire at Grushevaya. Based on other eyewitness videos, ASTRA established that after the attack, smoke also rose from the Sheskharis oil terminal, located on the coast of Novorossiysk.
“Sheskharis” is the end point of Transneft's main oil pipelines in the Krasnodar Territory, according to the website of the Association of Oil and Gas Services of the Russian Federation. The transshipment complex includes two industrial sites – “Grushovaya” and “Sheskharis”, located 12 km from each other.
