New Pentagon statement. “This delays the deployment of US forces in Poland”

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said that the change in the number of brigades is the result of a multi-stage review of the American military presence in Europe. He added that this decision is an element of the “America First” policy implemented by President Donald Trump, according to which European partners should take greater responsibility for the security of the region. “This means a return to the 2021 level of BCT numbers in Europe.” – said the spokesman.

Pentagon on the situation in Poland

The Pentagon spokesman added that the effect of this decision is “temporary delay in the deployment of American forces in Poland”which – as Parnell emphasized – “is an exemplary ally of the United States.” He also assured that the head of the ministry, Pete Hegseth, informed the Minister of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, about this.

“Our department will remain in close contact with Polish counterparts as the analysis progresses and to ensure that The United States will maintain a strong military presence in Poland, who has demonstrated both the ability and determination to defend herself. Other NATO allies should follow suit,” the statement reads.

Parnell stressed that the final distribution of U.S. troops in Europe would be a subject “further analysis of strategic and operational requirements”.
