One of the main targets of terrorists in Dagestan was an Orthodox church in Makhachkala. According to Mash, they wanted to capture several dozen parishioners who were celebrating Holy Trinity Day.
On June 23, one of the militant groups set fire to the synagogue on Ermoshkin Street – this was at 18:00. The radicals left messages on the entrance doors of the building: 2 surah, 120 verses and 8 surah, 39 verses, and recorded a video in which they called Christians and Jews enemy unbelievers. After this, the militants went to the Orthodox Church – another terrorist was waiting for them there.
On the way to the temple, a chase began – the police tracked them down and tried to detain them. Religious fanatics opened fire. During the shootout, one of the bullets hit a gas cylinder in the Ministry of Internal Affairs car – it exploded. Another one is a law enforcement officer. The officer died on the spot. At the same time, a shootout began near the temple. Guard Mikhail shot at the third radical to protect the priests and parishioners.
The police arrived. By this time, the private security company employee had died, and the criminals had taken his weapon. This morning the man had a funeral service and was buried.
