In Krasnoturansk, police officers detained a man who paid in a store with a “joke bank” bill. This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.
The day before, the police duty station received a message from the cashier that an unknown person had paid in the store with a souvenir banknote in the face value of 5 thousand rubles. The bill was discovered during a count a few days after the settlement.
During operational search activities, law enforcement officers found and detained a previously convicted 54-year-old man. It turned out that he found a “jar of jokes” ticket on the street and went to the store with it.

The seller mistook the souvenir bill for a real one and calmly sold the man alcohol. The attacker received the change in real banknotes.
Based on this fact, a criminal case was opened under Part 1 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud, that is, the theft of someone else’s property or the acquisition of rights to someone else’s property through deception or abuse of trust).
Krasnoturanets faces up to 2 years in prison; he is now under recognizance not to leave the place and proper behavior.
