The last stage of the Flower League will bring an extremely important duel between HC Dunărea Brăila and CSM Slatina. The two teams are fighting for the 5th place and, implicitly, for the qualification in the European cups in the 2026-2027 season.

On Saturday, May 16, 5 games of the 21st round of the National Women's Handball League took place, with all eyes on the confrontation between CSM Corona Brașov and Gloria Bistrița. Carlos Viver's team prevailed 27-24 and took a huge step towards winning the national titleneeding one more point to be sure of the event.

CSM Slatina and Dunărea Brăila are fighting for the 5th place in the Flower League

At the same time, following the results recorded today, the 22nd stage will come with the derby between HC Dunărea Brăila and CSM Slatina, decisive for the 5th place in the Florilor League, at the end of the 2025-2026 edition.

CSM Slatina was defeated by SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea with 29-32at the end of a game in which Magda Balsam's 12 goals were not enough. Tuva Hove continues to impress and has scored 11 goals in the Oltense goal, while Rebeca Necula is gradually returning to form. She had 5 goals from as many shots.

Instead, HC Dunărea Brăila managed to impose themselves on the ground of CS Minaur Baia Mare, score 32-22. The best scorers of the winner were the Romanians Andreea Popa (6 goals), Elena Roșu (6 goals) and Oana Bors (5 goals).

On the other side, Teodora Damian and Alba Spugnini had 4 goals each.

Therefore, before the last round, CSM Slatina, with 24 points, occupies the 5th position, while HC Dunărea Brăila, with 23 points, is in the 6th place. On May 23, starting at 17:30, in Brăila, the two camps will meet in a direct match for the adjudication of the 5th place and for the qualification in the EHF European League.

In the round, CSM Slatina defeated HC Dunărea Brăila by 3 goals, score 32-29in a match where Aleksandra Vukajlovic, with 9 goals, was unstoppable. On the other side, the best scorer was Valeriia Kirdiasheva (5 goals).
