In his opinion, the evidence of the existence of an iron curtain is the lack of direct air connections to Russia. – When I flew to Moscow in December last year, I had to fly through Turkey, and I also returned around Koszyce. This is an iron curtain – he assessed.
Fico emphasized that Slovakia rejects a new iron curtain, and the expression of his opposition will be the presence in Russia at the anniversary of the end of World War II. – We must participate in such events and present historical truth – the prime minister pointed out.

In his opinion, paying tribute to the soldiers of the Red Army has nothing to do with current events. Fico said that by mentioning World War II, one could not be neutral. “You can stand on the winners side or fascists,” he said.
