“He wasted all the money he had to spend” » He spoke scornfully about Adrian Mititelu: “The conflict with the local community…”

Marin Condescu, 69 years old, the former president of Pandurii Târgu Jiu, retired today from the phenomenon, “x-rayed” the football people he met over time, in a interview given to Gazeta at the beginning of this year. Speaking about Adrian Mititelu, Condescu felt the need to sympathize with the one who was the patron of the University of Craiova for many years, before the team was disaffiliated by the FRF.

In the opinion of the former leader of the Gorjes, the conflict the Mititelu family had with the municipality of Craiova was fatal to the man who led the destinies of the club from Bănie from 2005 until the disappearance of the old entity.

Dissensions between Mititelu and the Craiova officials persisted in recent years, during the FCU period, causing the former union leader to show even stronger solidarity with his cause.

Condescu, himself involved in hostile disputes with the town hall of Târgu Jiu, claims that Mititelu “wasted almost all the money he had to spend” in the years when he tried to assert himself in football. Meanwhile, the former boss of “Oblemenco” lost the war for primacy in the city in front of Mihai Rotaru's team.

Marin Condescu feels sorry for Mititelu: “He wasted almost all the money he had to spend”

“These are people who have spent a lot of money. For many, the conflict with the local community has unfortunately made them unable to support a particular team. Sometimes, you also have big disappointments and I look at Mr. Mititelu. He wasted almost all the money he had to spend…

And yet he went to the stadium and the world didn't recognize his credit for trying to keep a team he believed in. It's a very big disappointment. He was a very strong man to have lasted this long!

At some point, that mentality appears in the private environment… The man is no longer satisfied with working, with receiving his salary, but thinks where the boss gets money from, asks himself: “Where does this person earn the money?” The world has this antipathy that was left over from the time of the struggle between the working classes and the employers,” said Condescu, in the interview given to Gazeta in February.

Before, you had someone to argue with, but also someone to make up with! And in the League, and in the Federation, and with the clubs. Now, I don't know the situation. But as long as you have no one to argue with, it's not good… Because you have no one to reconcile with! Back then, they were first-rate people. I was not professionally at their height, but I saw and knew them.

Mititelu, open war with Olguța Vasilescu

The dispute between Adrian Mititelu and Lia Olguța Vasilescu, the former and current mayor of Craiova, is well known. The conflict between the two increased with the reappearance of football in Craiova, after the disaffiliation of the University in 2011 and the establishment, in 2013, of the new club supported by the local authorities.

Adrian Mititelu and Lia Olguța Vasilescu have a glacial relationship today

Adrian Mititelu constantly accused the administration led by Lia Olguța Vasilescu that he supported the appearance of another team and that he blocked their return to the “Ion Oblemenco” stadiumwhile the former mayor supported the legitimacy of the new project and the distancing of the city from the tense period that followed the disaffiliation. Over the years, the exchanges between the two camps have included numerous blunt attacks in the public space.
