A Zheleznogorsk resident was offended by a woman and set her husband’s car on fire

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, police opened a criminal case against a 41-year-old resident of Zheleznogorsk, suspected of setting a car on fire.
It was established that on May 6 the man had a fight with his friend, for whom he had romantic feelings. In the evening of the same day, he, being intoxicated and feeling offended, went for a walk around the city. At some point, he came up with the idea to take revenge on the woman – to set fire to her husband’s car.
“According to the attacker, he took a container of gasoline and headed to the courtyard of the house on Lenin Street, where the family lives. After dousing the husband’s Volkswagen with gasoline, he threw the empty canister under the car and then set it on fire,” the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The injured party estimated the damage at 500 thousand rubles.
The man’s actions were qualified as a crime under Part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Intentional destruction or damage to property by arson.” They can be punished for this forced labor for up to 5 years, or imprisonment for the same period. In the meantime, the person involved has been chosen a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place and proper behavior.
