The reduced VAT and excise duty rates on certain motor fuels have been extended until the end of May, according to regulations published on Wednesday in the Journal of Laws. The regulations enter into force on the day of their announcement. According to the previous regulation, reduced VAT and excise duty rates were to apply until May 15. The extension of their validity was announced by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Andrzej Domański, and the head of the Ministry of Energy, Miłosz Motyka.

“In accordance with the decision of the Minister of Finance and Economy, the VAT rate on gasoline, diesel oil and biocomponents constituting independent fuels, which was reduced from 23% to 8%, will be in force temporarily until May 31, 2026. The temporary reduction in excise tax rates on the same motor fuels has also been extended until May 31 this year,” the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
