According to the results of a study by NPF VTB, the average account under the long-term savings program (LSP) at the end of March 2026 among the fund’s clients increased significantly compared to March 2025: for men – from 49 thousand rubles to 68 thousand rubles, for women – from 54 thousand rubles to 73 thousand rubles.

Fund experts attribute this dynamics to the active replenishment of accounts by clients who received state support for PDS in August 2025 and investment income of 20.95% per annum from the NPF.

The number of program participants in the fund has almost doubled in all regions of Russia. Most of them are in the Central Federal District, where over the past year their number has grown to 449 thousand. The Volga region took second place with 244 thousand, Siberia now closes the top three with 241 thousand participants. The fourth and fifth places are still in the Northwestern (175 thousand) and Southern districts (110 thousand).

Women continue to join the program more actively than men – 65% of the total number of PDS participants in VTB Non-State Pension Fund versus 35%. The largest group of participants are women from 56 to 65 years old. There are 437 thousand of them in the program (221 thousand a year earlier), men of the same age – 204 thousand (previously – 97 thousand).

There are noticeably more middle-aged participants in the PDS who are still far from retirement: thus, the number of women in the group from 46 to 55 years old increased over the year from 90 thousand to 195 thousand, among men – from 44 thousand to 81 thousand. There is an increase in interest in long-term savings among women from 26 to 35 years old – from 13 thousand in 2025 to the current 22 thousand, their average account is already 22 thousand rubles, which is almost 2 times more than a year earlier.

The predominance in the number of male PDS participants begins with the youngest group, up to 18 years of age, and continues until 35 years of age. In the range from 36 to 45 years, men and women have parity – 71 thousand people each. It is interesting that in terms of the average bill under the program, women are in the lead in the group under 18 years of age (almost 35 thousand rubles against 26 thousand rubles) and from 46 to 55 years old (54 thousand rubles against 41 thousand). At all other ages, the male part of the participants had more savings – that is, they are less actively involved in the program, but at the same time they deposit more money into their accounts than women.

At the end of March 2026, the average amount in PDS accounts clearly increased compared to March 2025: from 54 thousand rubles to 73 thousand for women and from 49 thousand to 68 thousand for men. A trend towards an increase in the average score has emerged in all regions. This is especially pronounced in some participants under 45 years of age. In most of these age groups, the amount of savings over the past year has increased by about 1.5 times throughout the country.

“In the first quarter of this year, clients deposited almost 15 billion rubles into their accounts. In April, the number of program participants in VTB NPF exceeded 1.5 million people, and the total amount of funds reached 150 billion rubles,” commented Andrey Osipov, CEO of VTB NPF.
