Terrible moments for Polish Jan Bednarek and his family. The former Premier League defender was the victim of a violent robbery at his home in Porto, where he currently plays.

According to the Portuguese media, the Polish international returned home at around 21:00 after a dinner in the city and found five unknown people in the villa.

The attackers threatened him with a knife in front of his daughter

According to reports in Portugal, the group consisted of four men and one woman, who spoke Spanish.

The situation quickly degenerated when one of the attackers pulled out a knife and threatened the footballer, all while watching his four-year-old daughter.

Investigators believe the burglars monitored Bednarek's schedule for several weeks and took advantage of the fact that the home was empty. However, they did not expect the defender to return home so quickly.

Fortunately, neither the footballer nor his family members were physically injured, but the Portuguese press talks about a strong shock suffered by the whole family, notes sportal.blic.rs.

The thieves made off with jewelry and luxury watches

According to the authorities, the attackers stole two watches, two wedding rings and a bracelet, the total damage being estimated at approximately 150,000 euros.

The Portuguese police intervened immediately, and the case was taken over by the Judicial Police, which opened an extensive investigation. The FC Porto club also offered psychological support to the player and his family after the incident.
