Ceasefire in Ukraine. The Russians use them carefully


After announcing a temporary truce in Ukraine, various, often contradictory, news are coming from the front. Ukrainian Joint Forces spokesman Viktor Tregubov says the situation is relatively calm.

However, completely different reports come from the southern front. — More than 20 clashes have been reported within 24 hours today. Russian occupiers are trying to put pressure on Ukrainian positions, said Vladislav Voloshin, spokesman for the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, on the same TV station.

Most attacks are expected to occur in the Hulajpol region. The Russians are also to storm Ukrainian positions near Oleksandrov. — We have not recorded any airstrikes since the beginning of the day. The enemy uses Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles much less frequently, the military reported.

Over the past few days, a ceasefire has been announced by the Ukrainian and Russian sides. First, Moscow proposed a truce for May 8-11. Kiev rejected this deadline, accusing the Kremlin of violating the ceasefire announced by the Ukrainian side on May 5 and 6.
On Friday evening, Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to a ceasefire and that it would last from May 9 to 11. The American president said that both sides of the conflict would carry out an exchange of prisoners in the “1,000 for 1,000” formula.

Due to the ongoing war between the US and Israel against Iran, Ukraine-US-Russia negotiations were last held in February. It was previously announced that the talks could take place between March 5 and 9.
