Massive Iranian drone attack in the United Arab Emirates. Schools are switching to online classes again

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced on Tuesday, May 5, that its air defense systems had intercepted 15 Iranian missiles and four drones.

Among them are 12 ballistic missiles and three cruise missiles, which injured three people, stated the Ministry of Defense of the country, writes News.ro.
Thus, the total number since the beginning of the conflict reaches 549 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles and 2,260 drones, the ministry added.
Separately, on Monday, three people were injured in an attack on the Fujairah oil base in the United Arab Emirates, where a fire broke out.
The UAE Ministry of Education has also announced that schools will return to distance learning by the end of the week.
“These attacks represent a dangerous escalation and an unacceptable violation,” the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement, adding that the country “it fully reserves its legitimate right to respond to these attacks.”
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, condemned o “flagrant violation of international law”following the Iranian attacks on the United Arab Emirates.
Also, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called for a de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East.
“Great Britain condemns drone and missile attacks against the United Arab Emirates”Starmer said in a statement.
“This escalation must stop. Iran must engage significantly in negotiations to ensure the maintenance of a Middle East truce and a long-term diplomatic solution.”
