Lando Norris (26), the reigning Formula 1 champion, won the sprint race in Miami. His colleague from McLaren, Oscar Piastri, finished in 2nd place.
Starting from pole position, Norris remained leading the race at the start, holding off teammate Oscar Piastri, who took advantage of Kimi Antonelli's stalled start to move up a position.
Lando Norris quickly built an advantage of over a second over Piastri and dictated the pace of the race until the end. Overtaking and heated duels took place further back, for example between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, who contested several laps for 6th place.

Leader of the world ranking, Antonelli dropped to 5th place after the disastrous start, he immediately recovered a position and he stayed in 4th until the end, but a post-race penalty of 5 seconds for repeatedly exceeding circuit limits dropped him to 6thunder George Russell and Max Verstappen.
All in all, the perfect start to the weekend for McLaren, a 1-2 reminiscent of the papaya's dominance of 2025. Next up is qualifying for the Grand Prix tonight at 11pm.
Ahead of the Grand Prix, Kimi Antonelli remains the leader in the overall drivers' standings with 75 points, 7 ahead of colleague George Russell.
Charles Leclerc (55) and Lewis Hamilton (43) are next, with the Ferrari pair closely followed by McLaren drivers Lando Norris (33) and Oscar Piastri (28), who are trying to make up the deficit after a disappointing start to the season.
