Donald Trump rejected Iran's proposal. There are details

According to an Iranian official, Tehran considers this proposal a significant change aimed at facilitating an agreement. According to it, the United States and Israel would ensure that they would not repeat the attack, and Iran would open the Strait of Hormuz while lifting the American blockade of Iranian ports.
Nuclear program postponed until the next phase of negotiations
In the next stage, the talks would focus on limiting Iran's nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions, with Tehran demanding that Washington recognize its right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, Reuters reported.
“As part of these arrangements, negotiations on the more complex nuclear issue have been moved to the final stage to create a more favorable atmosphere,” the official said.
The US president is dissatisfied with Tehran's offer
The conflict between the US and Israel and Iran has been ongoing since February 28, 2026, causing the largest disruption to global energy supplies in history. Since the beginning of the war, Tehran has almost completely blocked the Strait of Hormuz, which has caused global oil prices to skyrocket.
The US is conducting its own blockade of Iranian ports. A ceasefire has been in force since April 8, 2026, but talks on a permanent end to the conflict have yielded no results.
