Ferrari presented today Special Handlinga new and exclusive configuration available on request for Ferrari Purosangue, developed to further intensify the sporty character of the first four-door, four-seater Ferrari in the history of the brand.
The configuration Special Handling was created to provide an even sportier driving experience by refining the car's mechanical and electronic reactions without compromising the everyday versatility that defines Ferrari Purosangue. It is intended for those looking for a setup with an even stronger emphasis on sportiness, while maintaining the ability to use the car daily and in any context.
The defining attributes of a true four-seat configuration – the full space for four passengers, the higher yet sporty driving position, as well as the overall functionality of the cabin – remain unchanged. The basic architecture of Ferrari Purosangue in configuration Special Handling continues to be the popular four-door layout based on a transaxle architecture, with a front-centrally positioned naturally aspirated V12 engine and rear-mounted gearbox, combined with state-of-the-art vehicle dynamics systems.
The new setup significantly revises several key elements of dynamic response, including active suspension calibration designed to reduce body roll by 10% and deliver a noticeably more compact feel. As a result, Ferrari Purosangue, in the configuration Special Handlingreacts more directly to the driver's commands, amplifying the feeling of control in the sequence of turns and during rapid changes of direction.
Gear shifting strategies have been optimized, with quicker response times and firmer shifts, particularly in Manettino 'Race' and 'ESC Off' modes. The effect is most obvious in acceleration, where the system privileges a more intense feeling of propulsion.
In manual mode, gear changes become sportier at medium and high engine speeds (above 5,500 rpm), increasing the driver's involvement in the driving experience. The sound perceived in the cabin has, in turn, been refined through a dedicated calibration, more meaningful on start-up and acceleration, highlighting even more clearly the unique character of the naturally aspirated V12 engine.
Ferrari Pureblood, in the configuration Special Handlingintroduces a number of exclusive design elements that make it immediately recognizable without altering its proportions or silhouette. These include custom-designed wheels with a diamond finish, carbon fiber side shields, matte black exhaust tips, black-finished Cavallino rear badge, satin-finish Ferrari lettering, as well as a dedicated interior plaque that distinctly marks this configuration.
The introduction of this new configuration amplifies the sporting spirit of a project that has radically transformed the global landscape of the luxury high-riding sports car segment, while maintaining its identity as a vehicle capable of combining the versatility of a four-seater model with the dynamic behavior typical of Ferrari cars with a front-central engine.
