After baking meat or vegetables, the baking sheet is often covered with a thick brown crust that does not come off even with a sponge and dish soap. Most spend the evening after dinner scrubbing, soaking in the sink and using harsh gels. But there is an easier way that works immediately after you take the dish out of the oven.
You will need:
Baking soda
Damp kitchen cloth or soft sponge
How to do:
- Immediately after cooking, while the baking sheet is still warm, place it on a stable surface.
- Sprinkle a thin layer of baking soda onto the stained areas, distributing the powder evenly.
- Take a damp cloth and gently wipe the surface in a circular motion, following the bottom of the pan.
- The baking soda will quickly lift up baked-on residue without scratching the nonstick coating.
- If there are dark stains from the sauce, go over them with the clean side of the sponge without pressing.
Baking soda works as a mild abrasive. It gently removes charred particles without damaging the metal. And a wet wipe takes away what is left.
This method is suitable for anyone who wants to spend less time cleaning up after dinner and more time relaxing with loved ones. You don't need any special tools, just what's always on the kitchen shelf.
