The film based on the book of the deceased Krasnoyarsk writer Anna Jane will have a sequel

The melodrama “Your Heart Will Be Broken,” based on the book by Krasnoyarsk writer Anna Jane, will receive a continuation. The distributor of the film “Atmosphere of Cinema” has officially announced the film adaptation of the second part of the dilogy, “Across the Pieces of Your Heart.” The team is now preparing for filming, the release date has not yet been announced.

The first film was released on March 26. It was watched by more than 1.8 million viewers, box office receipts exceeded 860 million rubles – this is the sixth result among projects this year. The budget was 300 million rubles, of which 20 million was non-repayable support from the Cinema Fund.

On Kinopoisk the film has a rating of 7.2 based on 125.5 thousand ratings. The film caused a mixed reaction among fans of the writer Anna Jane, but the film gained its own fans, including from other countries.

“The first part of the duology told the story of high school student Polina and the mysterious Bars, whose relationship began as a game, but quickly turned into real feelings. A love story facing the pressures of school, family and circumstance resonated with a wide audience. In the second part, viewers will see the development of this emotional line – a deeper immersion into the characters’ characters, new challenges and dramatic turns familiar to fans of the book series,” says the film’s distributor.

Let us remind you that Anna Jane (real name Anna Potapkina) – the most published author in Russia for several years now. She was born and lived in Krasnoyarsk, died in 2023 at the age of 35 due to health problems. During her career, she wrote 55 books in the young adult genre (literature for teenagers), which are published in more editions than those of Dostoevsky and other classics.
