- Not only the will is important. Here's why it's worth having a “red briefcase”
The advantage of a notarial will is the fact that this document is difficult to challenge, both from the point of view of formal errors and the testator's awareness. Additionally, the deed is guarded by the notary himself, so the risk of destruction or unwanted changes to the content is minimal – describes “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”.
To prepare a notarial will, only the presence of a notary and the testator is required. “DGP” indicates that the document may be prepared by a notary, but does not have to be. The process of preparing such a will can be divided into several stages.
It's just a few steps
At the beginning, the testator must choose a notary and specify what assets he wants to transfer and to whom. Then, the interested party prepares an appropriate document confirming the identity of the testator, as well as details of the persons indicated in the will.

The next step is up to the notary, who is to prepare the document, confirming beforehand that the testator is aware of the action being performed and is not acting under duress. Then he reads the notarial deed, and the testator can report his willingness to make any corrections. The last point of the process is the signing of the document by both parties.
How much does it cost to prepare a will?
Preparing a notarial will is not a big expense. The maximum rates are specified in the regulation of the Minister of Justice of June 28, 2004. They are: PLN 50 for a will; PLN 150 for a will with an ordinary bequest, an order or deprivation of the right to compulsory share, and PLN 200 for a will with a vindicatory bequest.
