Earlier pensions. Local government officials with an appeal to the prime minister

Earlier retirement after the second term? As Portalsamorzadowy.pl writes, local government officials from the Small City Commission at the Association of Polish Cities issued an appeal to the Prime Minister to consider the introduction of new regulations regarding the term of office and retirement security for commune heads, mayors and city presidents.

The proposal assumes two options: the possibility of exercising third and subsequent terms or a pension benefit of 85 percent. maximum statutory gross remuneration in a given local government after two terms.

The issue of term of office in local governments has been controversial for years. Supporters of limiting the number of term of office argue that such a solution is conducive to power rotation. In turn, opponents, including local government officials themselves, emphasize that two -wayness limits the development opportunities for long -term projects and activities for the benefit of local communities.
