Currently a representative of the Association of Amateur and Non-Amateur Footballers in Sweden, Lukanovic was on vacation in Romania for a few days and did not miss the opportunity to come to the match.

“It is a great joy to be in Bucharest again. I'm delighted with how the stadium looks, I was hoping it would be full, but I'm sure it's going to be a show. The life of a footballer was extraordinary, it's a shame that I caught the Rapid at a very, very difficult time, but that's life.
Now I walk and work, although the life of a footballer was much easier. I heard that Gică Hagi is also coming to the match, I can't wait to see him. He is the new “boss” now at the Romanian national team, I hope he does a good job”, he declared before the game.
Born in Tuzla, Bosnia, at that time part of Yugoslavia, Lukanovic spent his junior years at Malmo, the team for which he took his first steps in professional football. He did not impose himself, following experiences at Assyriska, Antwerp, Tienen, Atletico Ciudat, Limhamn Bukeflo, arriving in 2011 in Romania, at Voința Sibiu, during the time when the team played in League 1, relegating at the end of that season. Lukanovic managed a goal in 20 games for Voința.
He spent the following season at Ceahlăul, managing 3 goals in 25 appearancesputting his shoulder to keeping the team in the first echelon. He then arrived at Rapid, the last teams in his career being Hoang Anh Gia Lai (Vietnam), Landskrona BoIS, Kallithea and Koper.
