In Dudinka, the truck driver who killed a schoolgirl will go to trial

April 24 14:00

In the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a truck driver will stand trial for the death of a schoolgirl in Dudinka. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

Let us remind you that the incident occurred on February 14. A 15-year-old schoolgirl in a bright jacket with reflectors was crossing the road at the intersection of the street. Polar and Northern Bypass. At that moment, the truck driver was leaving a secondary street. He turned right without yielding to a pedestrian and drove into the oncoming lane. As a result, the girl ended up under the wheels. The minor died from her injuries at the scene of the accident.

“Later it turned out that the truck was moving without a technical inspection and a tachograph, which is a violation in itself. At the intersection, the driver did not take into account the advantage of the main road, did not reduce speed and did not notice the schoolgirl in advance, although the conditions allowed for this. A special on-site experiment confirmed that a pedestrian could be seen from afar from the cabin, and it was possible to stop. The driver repented, but only partially admitted his guilt – he explained that he was simply driving the car at the request of a friend,” the supervisory authority said.

The prosecutor charged the man with violating traffic rules resulting in death by negligence (Part 3 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He faces up to 5 years in prison.

The criminal case will be considered by the Dudinsky District Court.
